About
Ontologenesis is the personal website of Zachary Saint-Denys Price. I am an undergraduate student in Philosophy with an emphasis in contemporary continental philosophy. I consider myself to be a neo-vitalist, with primary interests in cosmology, ecology, ontology, teleology, and theoretical biology (especially abiogenesis, morphogenesis, and ontogenesis). My work in these areas draws inspiration from Bergson, Deleuze, Derrida, Guattari, Heidegger, Hume, Leibniz, Plato, Plotinus, and Schelling.
This blog is an attempt at forcing myself to think through some of the issues that arise from the nexus of my interests and inspirations. This means that, first of all, the blog serves as a notebook. My notebooks are generally filled with scribbles, but I would like to use this one to develop further drafts of ideas pulled from my Moleskines. As such, materials appearing here are not necessarily indicative of final developments in my thought, but are provided to foster refinement through discourse. There may also be personal and miscellaneous academic updates from time to time. I would also be happy to converse and provide assistance, philosophical or otherwise, on a more personal basis, so please feel free to email me using the contact page or follow me on Twitter. If you’re feeling charitable, please consider getting me a book from my Amazon wishlist.
